Periyar

Periyar, located in the outskirts of Kerala and commonly referred to as the Spice Village, has earned its name for this reason. Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is a well-known wildlife sanctuary that is located in Thekkady and spans approximately 777 square kilometers. It is widely regarded as the most enchanting natural sanctuary. The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is also a Tiger Reserve, and it is encircled by thick forests on all sides. The gigantic elephants playing in the water are without a doubt the most captivating aspect of the sanctuary; other animals there are interesting as well.
The Periyar River, which is also referred to as Vandiperiyar, flows through the center of the village, nourishing the many tea and coffee plantations that are spread out across the landscape. Tourists flock to Vandiperiyar because it is surrounded by a large number of tea factories, where they can sample a wide variety of wondrous types of tea and coffee.

The Pullumedu quarries are located all along the Periyar River's path.
