Chittorgarh Fort

Chittorgarh, also spelled Chittod Fort, is a massive structure and one of India's most famous landmarks. They have designated it as a World Heritage Site. Located in modern-day Chittorgarh, this fort once served as Mewar's headquarters. Overlooking the Berach River plains, it covers a slope of approximately 180 meters in height and an area of 280 hectares (691 acres). Sixty-five historical buildings, including four palaces, nineteen big temples, twenty large bodies of water, four memorials, and a few victory towers, are contained within the fort's walls.
The Hill Forts of Rajasthan, of which Chittorgarh Fort is a part, were designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013 at the 37th sitting of the World Heritage Committee in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
